1. How is the Leisure Plus Plan different?
It's a travel protection plan, designed by experts who worked in the resort business, to cover the broad needs of the resort vacation experience. We know the benefits that will actually enhance your vacation experience. The Leisure plan is not rated by age, or by number of people traveling, but by total trip cost. Plan enrollment is fast and easy.
2. What are some covered benefits that may help me while on vacation?
The plan responds to an extensive array of perils for Cancellation, Interruption, Medical needs and travel assistance. We combine all these benefits into one affordable program, giving you ease of choice to obtain vacation peace of mind quickly and affordably! We also include:
a. Weather Interruption including delay to your destination due to a closed roadway from inclement weather
b. Recreational Equipment Rental, so you can rent equipment in case your checked equipment is lost by the airline and play until your own equipment arrives
c. Trip Delay benefits without a daily sublimit, reimbursing you for reasonable, additional accommodations and traveling expenses incurred while you are delayed
d. Property damage to the unit you rent
e. Primary Rental Car Damage, so you don’t have to risk your own insurance or buy the rental company's damage waiver
f. Specialized benefits specific to Resort activities like skiing, golfing and beaching
3. Do you cover hurricanes, wildfires, and other natural disasters that can affect my trip?
Covering the unpredictability of weather disasters gives you real peace of mind. In addition, if these disasters occur during your trip where mandatory evacuation is required, we provide reimbursement for the unused accommodations lost during relocation.
4. Is it true VacationGuard includes coverage that allows me to decline a Security Damage waiver plan I might be asked to pay?
Yes! VacationGuard® programs include benefits for property damage to the unit within one comprehensive form. That means we will reimburse you up to the limit we provide under our Security Deposit Protection benefit, for accidental and unintentional direct physical damage to Covered Real or Personal Property within the rental unit you’re using. And it's pet friendly coverage!
5. There is no per-person rate, or age rating to buy?
Correct. Not rating our plans by age is one of the value-added benefits VacationGuard® can offer. Our travel protection fee is based on the total pre-paid, non-refundable cost of your trip.
6. What is “Total Trip Cost” used to get my rate?
Trip Cost is the total of your pre-paid, non-refundable, trip expenses, including taxes and fees, which you paid for the trip.
7. When is the ideal time to purchase the travel protection plan?
We recommend you purchase travel protection on the day of your Initial trip deposit. Not only does it extend certain valuable benefits relating to a pre-existing medical condition exclusion waiver, but it allows you to protect your trip against unpredictability for the longest window possible, for the same premium cost.
